MSc Taxation Residential Weekend Teaching Facilitator(s) 2025
The MSc Tax team require the assistance of two graduate students to provide a few hours of support for hybrid teaching at the MSc Taxation residentials. In return the student(s) may also audit any of the classes, should they so wish.
Most MSc Taxation classes take place in Oxford colleges and departments. The work will involve assisting guest teachers with the delivery of Zoom recordings for in-person MSc Taxation classes, and providing support when guest lecturers join via Zoom.
The exact number of hours of paid work is difficult to predict, as the teaching is only delivered hybrid in cases where an MSc Taxation student, with their supervisor’s permission, needs access to a recorded session due to unforeseen circumstances. These requests often arise at short notice, hence the need to have more than one student potentially available to provide this help.
Training will be provided as necessary, but prior experience with Zoom will be an advantage.
Terms and Conditions
Anyone is eligible to be considered for this work but the priority will be given to graduate students at the Law Faculty.
The hourly rate of pay is £18.43 per hour (equivalent to the hourly rate at Grade 6 point 1). Actual hours of work must be agreed upon in advance with the MSc in Taxation Administrator, who must also approve the subsequent claim using our standard timesheet. The hours of work will be based on the contact hours. The work is subject to the University guidelines on limits to paid work undertaken by graduate students (see Paid Work Guidelines for Oxford Graduate Students | Academic Support for details).
